My telegram of 4th May. Trade situation. Trade
with Canton continues to benefit by control of shipping
new
Labour Unions by/regime. Prospects for British textiles
are improved by rise in price of Japanese goods due to labour demands and financial stringency in Japan.
Chamber of Commerce suggests that monthly reports will
suffice in future unless sudden changes in the situation
occur.
